The Myriad-RF Radio Access Network (RAN) Forum serves as a point of collaboration for next generation software-defined radio (SDR) access networks that are powered by open source technologies.

The initiative grew out of an extended hackathon hosted by Lime Microsystems and BT, in partnership with key ecosystem technology providers and focused around the LimeSDR platform, with over 60 organisations registered and 8 selected to showcase proof of concepts.

Membership of the RAN Forum is open to all and open discussion is hosted via the Myriad-RF Discourse platform.

Details of relevant technology, projects and associated initiatives will be collected via the wiki.

Scope

While mixed open/closed solutions are in-scope, open source technology — i.e. open source hardware and/or software feature — will play a key role.
